So I have got this far without knowing this forum existed. Did anyone else find the step up in w4 a bit of a killer? First 5 min run was so hard I had to slow down. Runot 2 this week was a little easier but I still really had to push through. Any advice welcome 😔

I epically failed week 4, just couldn't keep going for 5 minutes :(

I then found this forum, repeated, and haven't looked back :)

Hello :)

Best advice is what you've already done- when the going gets tough... get  s l o w!

Good luck :)

The first 5 weeks of the programme are a real battle!  I think even week 1 was a shock to me!  However, it is certainly worth pushing through because it has taken me from being a non runner to being able to run 5k and now 10k - so plod on, take your time and breathe well and rest on rest days and you will do it too!

I struggled massively in the first 5 weeks and I think the turning point for me was when I ran for the 20 minutes.  I cried like a baby, I was so chuffed!  Have faith in the programme, you can do it! xxx

The advice is... and will be, from most folks on here.. slow, steady and just go with the programme...

It is all about stamina..not speed. Just follow the plan... enjoy the journey. There are tricky bits, and bits that seem okay, that may throw you..but if you keep slow and keep steady, you will do this..

No-one is saying it will all be easy...but..they are saying, it will be worth it!

Keep posting.. everyone is here, to support, encourage and..( often me) give you a little shove when necessary! :)

Hahaha, just wait for week 5R3😁. Nah just kidding. My advice: take it easy, relax, pick a spot further out then when you reach it, pick another one further.... You will surprise yourself. It is unbelievable what you can do!

Welcome to the forum!

The key is to slow down. Doing that will help you to sustain the running for longer. You can do this!
