Restarted week 6 after injuring left knee 2 wks ago (was gutted). Took it easy and feel good. Any MS runners out there who chant “lift” like me to ensure no tripping?

Yes a fellow MS suffer. The running makes me feel so good and as long as I pace the rest of my day I don’t get too fatigued.

Have to run early morning as that’s when I’m at my best, and as long as I layer up the cold doesn’t effect me too much.

My right leg gives me the most trouble and I really have to concentrate to make sure I lift it enough because if I don’t it tends to drag.

I run mainly on grass these days because in February I didn’t lift it high enough and over I went resulting in a bloody knee and two fractured ribs. I was so desperate to get back running when I was laid up.

I graduated C25k in June 2019 but didn’t carry on with the running so started again in January 2020, then the fall and recovery put that back. I started again in July 2020 but have put no pressure on myself to complete in the 9wks or even 9mths I’m just enjoying the journey. I enjoy the intervals as much as the long runs and feel the intervals do me more good health wise than the longer runs. So I tend to jump backwards and forwards in the plan doing what I fancy on a given day.

Good luck with your journey, this is your last week of intervals then your on to solid runs with no recovery walks to break it up. I’m sure you’ll do it.

Hi just wanted to say a big thanks for your email. I completed week 6 on Thursday and ran for 25 minutes. I'm looking forward to completing week 7, 8 & 9. I will be celebrating with new bouncy trainers!

Good luck to you too, your love of running shines in your email so long may you continue injury free.
