Slow and far. Quick and short ?

I completed couch to 5k. So proud of myself. I have continued with running. What are peoples thoughts on distance and speed? Shall I run as fast as I can or jog and go further? At the moment I am aiming to run 60minutes at a time and I cover just over 5.5 miles.

I doubt myself all the time, am I running properly, am I running far enough, am I running fast enough, am o breathing properly?

Yes I do overthink everything :)

Congratulations on graduating, and it's great that you're going to keep it up :)

I'd suggest you head over to healthunlocked.com/bridgeto10k and look around. A good place to start is with JuJu's Magic Plan here: healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

The Magic Plan is designed to take you incrementally from 30 minute runs to 60 minutes. It's really good.

Why not pop over to the Bridge to 10k forum? It's at healthunlocked.com/bridgeto10k and there are lots of lovely people there to give advice and support.

I also overthink things and can only say that running is helping me not to. There's no obligation to do faster, further, etc, just get out there and enjoy your running! :)

Many congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

This guide to post C25k running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and suggests that 80% of your running is at an easy conversational pace, only pushing pace in the remainder.

Keep running, keep smiling.

I have found an amazing amount of running info on youtube. It helps me to see the visuals, I find, much better than trying to understand it in words.

There are plenty of advice on preventing injury and recovering from injury from pro physios, a real eye opener on how the body works for me.

Plenty of advice there on improving running technique from pro trainers too. And all important strengthening exercises for runners. There’s more to running than running! 🙂

Reasonable goals really depend on your personal fitness level, your strength, your age etc. However, the general advice seems to be to vary your aims each alternate run, mix it up: long, short, fast, slow, duration, intervals.

If you've done a few 30 minute runs post graduation, why not tap into the bridge to 10k forum, which has lots of ideas about how to progress.

I wouldn't run as fast as you can at the moment, slow and steady is probably the best way forward at the moment.

Good luck.

Mix it up. 80% should be super easy.

Do you mean 80% of the runs should be easy. X

Sorry. I understand the 80% comment now. I am really enjoying my runs and look forward to them the night before (sad but it makes me happy)x
