This was a tough run. I find that when I’ve ran on flatter roads I don’t know how to pace myself on inclines.
I must have ran far too quickly as the run in general was tough going. I even stopped half way to catch my breath and once again. Only very quick stops but definitely needed.
This was the first run I’ve paced properly without the walks.
Pace 6:38
Distance 4.2k
My quickest pace yet but perhaps not worth it if I feel like I’m dying!? Think this pace may be ok on flatter surfaces. Food for thought anyway!
Happy running folks!😍🐢🐌🏃🏾♀️

It's relative. Don't try and run uphill with the same form you use on the flat. You'll kill your legs.
Little fast steps will stop you getting out of breath and will vary your stride pattern a bit. Breaking up your stride pattern is a good thing. A lot of running injuries are a form of RSI from doing the same thing in the same way over and over again. Mixing it up a bit is good.
Oooh Dee that is some pace! 😱 Well done!! As long as you're enjoying it. But....don't forget you're not running with the brothers though........yet! You've got plenty of time to leave them for dust! 😁😉❤️
Sometimes it's just hard to find the right pace during the run. You're doing great! Not long before graduation Dee!! 😍 Relax and enjoy your rest now! 😉❤️
There you go! We're never the only one when it comes to the things we experience when running! But we learn so much from just doing it. That's a win! 😉❤️
Yes, as others have said, I try to keep the rate of steps the same, but shorten my stride going uphill and then let the legs take me downhill on longer strides covering more ground - but all a very similar bpm, just as using gears on a cycle to keep your pedals turning at the same rate. You could definitely afford to slow down if you find yourself not looking forward to the next run. Better that than get to the end and not want to run any more
Hellooo 🙋 I've been hiding out in other forums 🙈Talking about food n calories n stuff 🙄 Lost the bug and didn't run for 7 days... until today! Scraped a 5k! Extremely slow but a big achievement for this old snail 😝 I'm back in the game 👊
Haha!! How’s the ‘D’ word going!? I’ve joined slimming world in the hope of losing a few pounds before my brothers wedding at the end of Oct 🤞🏽lost 4lb then gained 2.5lb 😂 hey ho God loves a trier!
Yay 5K!!! That’s very good for 7 days off!! Why do you think you lost the bug? Xx
😱 The 'D' word *covers ears* 🙉 It's healthy eating dontcha know 🙄🤣 You have a few pounds to lose~ I have 2stone! Not that I'm bragging or anything 🤣 5k is good for me. Period. Never mind the 7 days off bit!😂 I think I lost interest because well I was a bit crap anyway 🤣🤣 and wasn't improving on anything, one day I thought I'd go slow n steady, next run I was bored with that so thought I'd show off a bit 😝 it felt like a real struggle to commit to anything (flitting as usual 🦋) then when I stupidly did a longer run I thought my hip was gonna fall off.... went back to short interval runs, watched fellow Grads running off into the distance and just Meh. Have been thinking about getting back out there but didn't know how to tackle it. Anyway a motivational message on here today gave me the push, so here I am 😊 3 x 5k p/w 🦋
Of Flara it’s a lifestyle change and not the ‘D’ word! 😂🙄 (that’s what they want you to believe) lol!! But in all seriousness I hope it’s making a difference. And you’re absolutely right a 5k is not to be sniffed at ever! Blooming marvellous!! 😁🙌🏽 I’m glad somebody as rekindled that running mojo within you and that you’re back in the game. Butterflies can soar as well as flit you know!! 😘😘😘
