With the news of the national lockdown starting NHS couch to 5k seems even more timely. I got my trainers on and did Week 1 Run 1. Feeling pretty proud of myself and pleased. Absolutely spent now.

Well done and welcome to the forum. You'll get plenty of support on this forum. Full of good tips and experiences.
Congratulations to you "twolungs" on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum.
Act 1 of lockdown in March and April saw a record number of people starting C25K and the majority of them graduated around 9 or 10 weeks later.
With what I call Act 2 of lockdown which starts in England this coming Thursday I expect many more to begin the course, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, no running on consecutive days, good luck for your running journey with C25K 😊 🏃🏾.
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
At least you won't get heatstroke starting now.
But you will get sweaty.
You must stay hydrated (on non running days too).
You must go slowly.
And you must have fun!
On 9 September I did Week 1 Run 1.
I have just done two 25 minute jogs.
I am 57 and a generous three stone overweight with a touch of asthma.
The programme does work. Trust the programme and trust yourself.
Did I say have fun?!
