CR3 Naked but not Commando!😱 😂 (long post alert!)

Have you ever had a day when your 🏃‍♀️ has to fit round everyone and everything else? Well that was me yesterday for CR3.

I got out the house in good time with all running paraphernalia at the ready; clothes and shoes on 👍, phone and armband 👍, water bottle 👍 earbuds 👍 All good so far!

Plan was to drop Tween MM’s girlfriend to the ferry then Tween MM would walk the 🐶 whilst I ran.

It started well, girlfriend didn’t miss the 🛳 and as the 🌞 was shining it seemed a good shout to stop off at the forest 🌳 🍁

We got out the car 🚗 with excited 🐶 so Tween MM started out down the path and disappeared into the trees.

Warm up stretches done (I felt a bit silly as lots of other people were also walking their dogs!) I went to my phone for Nike Running Club and some tunes. 😱 No signal!!

For a second I was all of a dither, should I just go back to the 🚗 and wait for Tween with 🐶, should I try to find her and drag her and the mutt off to walk and run somewhere else? Could I run at all without a coach and music? Would I get lost in the forest 🌳 as I’d never run there before? It seemed as though all my 🏃‍♀️ 😈 were coming at once!

Get a grip and stop faffing girl!!! Otherwise I’d have to do another warm up 😂

Tentatively I took my first steps running naked with just a phone stop watch for company. What a lovely 🏃‍♀️ 😁

The forest runs down to a creek so there were definitely times when I ran up fairly steep inclines and felt as though I was running backwards 😂 and I was occasionally dodging dog walkers 🤣 but with only me, the trees and some dappled sunlight it made for a good vibe (heavy breathing not withstanding 🤣)

I really don’t know what I’d been so worried about and will definitely run naked again. Shame about the shoes! 😁

So glad that you kept with it MM55. It’s great to just listen to the sounds of nature occasionally.

As an alternative , you can always download some podcasts or music on to your phone so that you don’t need the signal.

Don’t worry about the shoes - a quick rinse and stuff with newspaper and they’ll be fine.

Hi Dexy5, the run made up for muddy shoes, but they were so pretty 🤣

At least when I go out now I won’t look quite so much of a newbie 🤣

Yes, I should download some podcasts and music if I don’t want to be caught out again but at least I now know that nothing but nature around you is rather nice 😊

I haven’t run with a coach since graduation, but will start exploring my options soon (hoping for CR6 later if the weather clears).

I haven’t run without music since Week 5 😬 but I’m enjoying revisiting my hippy rock chick youth with various 70’s mixes 😂

Well done for getting to CR6. I hope it is a fab one today 🙌. It’s rubbish weather on the IW but even 🏃‍♀️ in rain doesn’t phase me now 😊

More of a rock/punk girl in the 70’s but will happily listen to most things and it was 90’s/00’s anthems that got me through graduation 😁

I did CR4 in the rain last week, desperate to fit in scenic runs before Welsh Lockdown 🙄

If there’s a fair weather window today, I’ll be going for it!

Really well done for running naked 👏 and somewhere new too 😃 It sounds like a lovely route and guess if it’s new it’s easier to be distracted as you’re looking around more, enjoying the scenery and concentrating on an unknown path. I haven’t braved going naked yet but maybe will take a leaf out of your book and go somewhere completely different when I do.

I’m having a couple of days off now so hope to get out again tomorrow, it’s looking like it might be a few degrees warmer. Enjoy being able to run in the day whenever you like 🏃‍♀️😊

I’ve decided that if my shoes look too pristine then I’m not a real 🏃‍♀️They look as though they’ve had some miles done in them! That’s my excuse! 😂

I’m off island tomorrow so Thursday for me with the next 🏃‍♀️ I hope.

I’ve just found EXi if you’re looking to do some strength work. Part of NHS still but bit more interesting than Strength and Flex in my humble opinion 😆

Haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. It sounds ridiculous to say I’ve been too busy, with not working, but it feels like that 🤷‍♀️ don’t know where the time goes. Lots going on back home currently with parents, sister and five boys so that takes up quite a bit of time.

When I read your ‘off island’ I had a sudden longing for Southampton John Lewis... miss it so much 😕 Just off to take the car for it’s first service 😬 hate driving over here it’s terrifying 🙈 will take my Waitrose coffee cup for company 😁
