Week1 Run1 10-10-20

I haven’t run in months. I can’t remember the last time I did. I miss the feeling of having 30mins doing something for me. So even if I never run further than 5k I will do these 3 runs each week and see where I end up.

So yesterday was my Wk1 R1.

I put my earbuds in and cranked the playlist up and I did it. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. But Today my legs ache. And now I’m thinking have another day off tomorrow. But I know if I do have another rest day I won’t do R2.

So. I shall go out tomorrow and do my next run. And in the end I will be glad I did!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Legs aching is normal for new or restarting runners. As long as it's not pain, you'll be OK.

Don't be afraid of taking an extra rest day if your muscles demand it.
