Mixing it up

First post for a while, since graduating I have been trying to mix up my runs a little.Last week I completed my longest run ..4 miles and then we had awful galeforce winds and torrential rain for 4 days.Went out in this mornings drizzle ..2 miles and smashed my mile time.So enjoying just running.

Has anyone tips on winter/autumn running gear..I'm still in T shirts but know I'll need more as the weather gets colder.?

Hi, sounds like you are doing great, I wear a hoodie and when it gets colder a thermal vest under it, mind you after running for a while i often tie it round my waist

Well done.

Layers for winter running and don't forget gloves and a buff is a wonderfully flexible way to keep head/neck warm.

Yes, gloves are an essential bit of kit.

As this is the first time I’ve ever run with a touch screen phone, I reckon I’ll be after a pair of touch screen gloves myself.🙂

You might want to set a PIN rather than a password on the phone. Fingerprint readers don't work when you're wearing gloves either.

Good advice.

I already had to change my PIN to a shorter one - to save valuable seconds! 😁

Reminds me of Llandudno

Ah, I recognise your photo, what wild storms we’ve had here on the Eastern edge, great run and good to hear you’re enjoying your running, ....your post has reminded me of Winter when I first set out to do Couchto5k, me and Mr J were so lucky to have mainly dry days to run so I layered up, ....3 layers, gloves, and a woolly hat should see you right, now I’m brave enough to run in rain I’m about to invest in a waterproof running jacket. 🤗

I enjoyed running in the dizzle today, but know I will need to layer up for seafront runs very soon !

Hi Rosie2shoes, well done! Layering is good, same as I do with cycling. I’ve always cycled so have a good cycling jacket. It’s luminous pink so can be seen, waterproof and wind proof which is great. Don’t forget your gloves. Injured at the moment but would love to run by the seaside...Lucky you Rosie 😊

Hi Chrissie ..yes so lucky to live by the sea especially in these uncertain times.Have started layering up and this year I know exactly what will be on my Christmas list..more running gear, can't believe that I am now a runner.

Thanks for your good advice x
