Wk5 run3 mixed emotions

Just back from this run a bit disappointed in myself as around minute 14 had to slow down to a walk for 30/40 seconds to sort my breathing out. But did an extra minute at the end to make up for it. But to think I couldn’t even run/jog for 5 minutes a few weeks ago I am so chuffed. So as I say mixed emotions.

Now I’m not sure whether to do this run again to conquer it completely or go on to week 6? Any thoughts similar experiences?

Thanks it is a tough one isn’t it! And the muggy weather didn’t help! Good luck with wk6.

Do you think it will make you feel better to do it again without stopping if so try again and slow right down . It took me 3 tries to fully complete this run , and your right look how far you've come since wk1 so don't be too disappointed. Good luck 😊😊

Very warm weather is now here, not good for us runners, however, if you can rerun run 3 of week 5 after a day of running, run it as soon as the sun rises, that is the 'coolest' part of the day, even then the temperature could be around 19C/66F.

Just reading that France sometimes this week could reach temperatures of 40C/104F in the afternoon, that includes Paris, don't fancy running in that heat.

You don't...I ran at 5 in the morning when I was last in the Dordogne...it was hot even at that time...there were heat warnings...it reached 42...and ..all you could do was stay in the cool and the shade...phew!

Hi Floss, I went this morning to make an appointment for a gait analysis for Wednesday morning, after the analysis, I will buy the recommended shoes and socks to match.

Brilliant..we shall of course, need the obligatory photo of the shoes...and socks!

Yes indeed, I just hope the photo comes out, sometimes it plays up, but certainly, I'll send you a photo of my legs,(below knees) socks and of course my new shoes.

Your choice. If you want to do every run.. then repeat it..but take it really gently...many folk do it, to give them the confidence to move on happily:)
