Good grief, it was tough! Decided to stay closer to home for a change as we were having a cheeky takeaway after so I wanted to get back ASAP . Only issue with that, is it's VERY hilly where I live so it was a lot harder than our usual route but I guess it's all beneficial, right!?!
Only ran 1.8 miles (specifically only did Strava while we were doing the running, not the warm up and cool down as I usually do)... A fair way off the 5k pace it seems which was disappointing. I knew we were slow but I didn't realise just how slow, however, I'm not gonna let that disappointment linger for long... I'm sure the speed will come, in time... Fingers crossed, anyway!

I think you could be right there - not quite as catchy, though!
The hills here definitely zap my speed and the one back up to our house, with the route we did last night, is particularly steep so it was a bit of a killer and, needless to say, I wasn't disappointed when we had to jog on the spot for a bit while a guy reversed onto his drive 😂😂
I think we might go for our usual route next time and see what difference there is in distance covered, just out of interest.
I've just done pretty much the same thing... W7R1 today (in the rain) and used an app to measure my distance for the first time: 1.62 miles, so you're faster than me!
But as you say, it's about duration not speed, and I'll work on speed after Week Nine.
NEVER too slow LolaMac81. As for the 5k, it will come with time. Keep running & keep enjoying running & take the pressure by running the time & not distance. It’s a lesson l learnt today 👍🏻
After that hilly run your normal route will probably feel a lot easier. Those hills helped increase your stamina no doubt, so a bit of mixing things up won’t hurt from time to time. Keep us posted on how your next run goes 👏
Good luck for Monday! We should technically be starting week 8 on Monday but illness hit my boy (who runs with me) so we had a couple of days off. I'd been thinking we could just do one 25m run and then skip to start the 28 minute runs but I quickly realised that wasn't a good idea 😂 the finish line will come soon enough, after all
