Unexpected soaking.

5K done and dusted for MMD virtual 5k. Pretty cold and windy (mental note to self to buy some running gloves). The run was going along fairly well and even managed to avoid the rain and getting wet UNTIL a white van man completely soaked me driving through a puddle 😡💦 hopefully it was unintentional🤞. This was swiftly followed by a very speedy runner overtaking me!! Settled down after that and managed to finish in 36.56 for 5.14k with a pace of 7.11/km.

All in all pretty pleased with that.

Meant to also mention that my pic albeit very pretty is a generically produced one by my phone app 🤭, I wish that was where I usually ran, maybe someday.

Well done! I’d be happy with that time! How annoying to be soaked by the van 😫.

Beautiful spot to run. I’m envious as a Midlander 🌊

Thanks, MMD but as my edit adds the pic was a generic one from my phone app, sorry. Like to dream.😄

Good run for you today apart from that splash you got from the van, there are some people here on C25K who do run in places like the one in that generically pic, lucky them.

Great run and there's always one who likes to soak a runner or pedestrian . Like you say it may have been unintentional. Love the photo🏃‍♀️😍

Whoops about the soaking! Well done for the 5K and pace. Cold and windy where you are? Gloves would definitely be a good idea! I also have one of those neckerchiefs ready for use. I remember seeing a number of runners wearing them earlier this year, even though the thought of me running had never crossed my mind! 👏👏👍

Gloves are a good idea. I now have two pairs: thin with grippy palms and thicker. Both have fingertip pads for operating smartphones and watches.

Oh I hadn’t thought of that! Fingertips pads are ‘must haves’!
