Just heard that parkrun is to return next month.

I think the statement says they intend to start in England at the end of October but there's no timelines set for Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland

Much as I'd love to run one, I don't think that a mass event is a great idea in the middle of a pandemic. Numbers are steadily rising again.

Maybe but I would be very surprised if they start in Scotland this year.

Thank you! I have not fancied a park run at all, having used running as a way of being alone (along with my allotment), but actually I have work colleagues who do the local park run and it might be a way of me seeing them, as we are all working from home. My closest colleague is a 'serious' runner (half marathons etc) who had covid and is still struggling to get his fitness back and he has been persuading me to do a park run. He may have won!

Everything involves a risk - even going to the supermarket. They say the risk is very low from outdoor sport it would be a nice way of getting that little bit of social contact back .

And doing something you both love is an added bonus!😁
