Well, that was horrible!
Felt like Iβd never ran before. First time since week 1 that Iβve considered giving up, but gritted my teeth and just about got through it.
Why, oh why, was it so hard?

That first run of week 6 can be tough because you go back to the walk run intervals, which oddly feels harder after the continuous 20 min run.
You did it though, some sessions just feel tougher for all sorts of reasons! Crack on with your next run, you're doing just great!
As often said , week 6 runs 1 and 2 catch people out !
But you did it !

Iβd seen lots of people mentioning that week 6 runs 1 and 2 catch people out. So I tried to be cautious and go as slow as I could.
This run just wasnβt for me. Felt far more like I was drunken stumbling than running. Slightly discouraging at this point, but I havenβt had to repeat any runs so far so taking that as a positive.
Yeah - this one can be a real toughie for many people - myself included. You can't beat that high of run3 week 5 and 20 minutes non stop. The return of intervals seems hard somehow.
But you kept going so well done!ππ
Only one more interval run/ walk to go then it's longer runs all the way to that graduate badge π
Weβre never the same two days running, mentally or physically. It all goes in cycles, up and down.
You did it! π
Someone described week 6 run 1 as clunky to me, and that's exactly how it felt. Disappointing after the euphoria of week 5 run 3 but you know what to expect now for run 2. Good luck π
I also just did this run this morning - wokeup with a groggy head and and feeling a bit yuk but went for it - For the first 5 mins I felt horrible -could hardly lift by legs and my knees were a bit painful - any way i pushed on through it and the 10 min run was a bit better once i passed the half way point . By the time I got to the last 5 mins I was feeling OK and upped my pace for the last uphill stretch. Finished on a high. Funny the way these things go!
Week 6 Run 1 isn't the set of short runs you think it's going to be. Adding the extra brisk walks between means your body has to keep going for longer. This is what drains your reserves.
Well done! π
Eeek! Well done for getting through it!Good luck with hitting R2! ππΌ
