53 and riddled with arthritis and this feels like madness. I have never run for 20 consecutive minutes before in my life....found it a bit emotional! So why on earth was today so hard? Everything aches now and I was so slow at one point I think I was actually going backwards. Sadly forgot to press the Strava button so I can’t prove that. Eugh! Exhausted!

Your’re in Week 6! You’ve got this far, and you can do this! If you need to have more rest days that fine. Otherwise get back out there and trust the programme! It’s got you this far, and will get you through! .

My goodness - how amazing you are getting out there and trying this. If you search Japanese slow jogging movement on youtube you’ll find a great short film showing a low impact running technique that’s designed to avoid injury and may help a lot with pain. Slow does not matter - it’s still running! I run like this all the time as I want to avoid injury and had a couple of small niggly pains (knee & hip), and both are mainly gone now.

Haha....thanks. I think I probably make that lovely Japanese man look speedy. Will bumble on! Nothing to lose. Cardiovascular benefits to gain!!

Well done 🎉👏🏻. Some runs are just hard no idea why they just are. when I did the 25 min ones the 2nd one felt as if I was dragging a block of concrete behind me😫😢. The 3rd one I flew it🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️. Only a day between them but such a difference. Hopefully your next one will be more enjoyable without the aches Good luck 🍀😊

Today’s workout was longer than the last one, that’s one reason... include the brisk walks as they are also cardio, and add up all the intervals, not just the runs.

Also, the intervals look easy and it’s possible that you went a little faster without thinking about it

W6R1 has caught many people out... you completed it... great job!

Great for getting this far if you need an extra rest day , take it especially having arthritis but only you know your own body good luck😊
