Week 8 R3

I just found this site, would have come in handy 2 months ago when I started haha. I just did my 3rd run but had to walk it out quite a few times, started a keto diet and find I need a kick. Anyone recommend energy snacks, shakes or tips.

Also do you redo the whole week if you stop jogging, i managed to do the w8 runs 1 and 2 fine but today was difficult. Thanks 🙂

No need to redo the whole run. Though I'd be very careful about doing keto while running - I know it's a controversial topic but if you are feeling low in energy and struggling to run that probably means it isn't right for you.

Yes I agree, I think I will have to modify my meal plans around jogging. Thank you.

Hope that works out for you. You've probably already worked this out from others' posts but I meant no need to redo the week, just the run.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

The guide includes basic advice on diet. You don't need energy snacks or shakes if you eat a good broad based diet.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi, welcome aboard.

I'm not a diet expert, but instinctively I feel you might need access to energy from some quality carbs. 🤷‍♀️

I would only repeat a run if I hadn't completed it as per the programme, and there's no need to repeat the whole week - unless you really want to.

Good luck

I wouldn't repeat the whole week, just that run. Good luck

I am keto and have been for a while. It hasn't been a problem energy wise for runs but I was already adapted to the way of eating.

I wouldn't recommend starting keto or low carb whilst starting out with the C25K

Maybe consider low carb as opposed to keto if the eating suited you
