Week 5 Run 3

Hi,

I like to know how I’m doing during a run. Does anyone know what times Laura et al tell you where you’re at during W5R3? I’m dreading long gaps with no feedback.

Thank you,

S

If I remember right, she pops up at the 5, 10, 15, 19 and 20 minute marks. Well, that's what Jo does.

Laura does too.

Don't worry, they talk as you run, I think it's every 5 minutes and last minute. But I listen to music too to help distract me.

Have fun!

Don't approach the run with anxieties....... trust the plan.

Mine popped up at 5, 10, 15, 18 and then 20 - I remember because usually you’d have the last minute and I pushed myself thinking I’ve only got 60 seconds left to go but it turned out to be 2 minutes and I had to push myself so hard but it was so worth it in the end!

It's really best not to focus on the time, just keep your pace slow enough that you don't get out of breath, look at the scenery, don't look at your watch! and don't forget to enjoy yourself :)

W5R3 is all about getting into the groove. This is the first run of the programme long enough to allow that to happen. Find a nice steady pace and just keep putting one foot in front of the other one. You'll be surprised how quickly it passes.

I did this yesterday...do not panic...keep moving and slow right down. Good luck

Iannoda Truffe ( Admin) really does ‘know-da-truth’. Trust the plan and stick to it! Slow down and you will enjoy the runs more and not feel the need to check the time.

Organise your music playlist so that longer run sections have longer pieces to carry you through to the end.

Good luck.

In the early weeks, 5 minutes seemed a lo-o-ong time. I solved the problem by buying a cheap digital stopwatch. The display is big enough to read without my glasses!
