Week 5 run 3 😬

I’ve just completed the second run of week 5 tonight which means I have run 3 due on Sunday. It’s a full 20 minute run so I’m slightly worried.

I don’t want to have to walk during the 20 minutes as I’ve not yet given up on any session so far. I’ve been adamant that I’ve not walked before I should and I am so pleased with myself so far. However the prospect of the full 20 minutes is scary.

Anyone have any advice or tips?

I was a little worried about this run but there is a great post by IannodaTruffe debunking the myths about the longer runs and it really helped me. I took it really slowly and it was way easier than I expected. As everyone says: trust in the programme! Every week I have surprised myself. Enjoy it 👍

Thanks I’ll give that post a read

Your legs are ready... you’re body is ready. That 20 minutes is a case of mind over matter... keep the pace down, kick Mr and Mrs Doubt out of your head, relax and enjoy. You can do it. You’ve done amazingly so far, you’re over half way through the plan... it’s time to amaze yourself. Enjoy.

thank you

Relax, go slowly and enjoy it.

Oh my gosh. Just read your link. You’re right! Mind over matter. Thank you. That has given me a boost.

I've got this run later today. I'm also concerned about the jump in time but am just planning to run a bit slower, turn up Whole Lotta Rosie on the iPod and hope for the best!

I freaked out at the thought of this run too. .. but was amazed when I had done it! It's bonkers to think a few weeks ago we couldn't run for a bus let alone run for 20+ minutes.

Hope it went well :)

I’ll did. I’ve just finished it!! Didn’t stop just kept a nice steady pace. 👍🏻

Just done this run this morning. Couldn’t get my head round running 20 mins after only having done 8 mins previously but found it surprisingly easy despite the freezing wind and rain ! Just take it at a steady pace and look forward to the amazing feeling when you’ve done it .

Good luck for tomorrow 🏃🏻‍♀️

Hi There! Trust in the programme and yourself...take it slow, and good luck. 👍

I was dreading that run. I remember lying in bed that morning thinking I’d just give up so I didn’t have to do it. But I went out - and I loved it! First time I felt like a runner 🏃🏻‍♀️😊

Done it!

Thank you for all the positive replies. I didn’t stop, just took a steady pace. The feeling after - amazing!!!

Massive smile alert!
