It’s been a few days since graduation since I really didn’t want to run in the heat and I don’t have the option of running early. I set off this evening in the cool wind and sea mist, with a very achy back after a day of lugging a clingy toddler around. I wondered if I’d find the run difficult today but as I walked out of the door, I realised I was relishing the me-time ahead, running in the fresh air and listening to a good books and I was really pleased and surprised to realise that I wasn’t finding the running as hard going as had been doing during weeks 7 and 8, which were gruelling for me. I can feel that my stamina has improved and the strength of my legs too, which was really encouraging.
I did still use one of the week 9 runs from the app though, as I just wanted to know when there were 5 minutes to go and when I’d finished, rather than having to worry about looking at my watch. I changed trainer to Jo for a change and found that I really liked her so I may stick with her as my timekeeper/encourager for my consolidation runs.
It was nice and very freeing to just be running without any agenda other than to keep going for 30 minutes.
