Wow, this is long, apologies
Consolidation Run feels weird to type
After having what wasn't a very enjoyable graduation run on Tuesday, I always knew I was going to go out today but didn't decided on how long for until last night when I downloaded the Nike app (as I heard they have various runs for you to use) and deciding that I'll give the 4km run a go.
I'm pleased to say that this morning, in high winds, I've ran 4km in just under 39 minutes! This is the longest duration I've run compared to the 32 minutes I ran on graduation day.
I'm extremely happy with! The main reason is how I felt afterwards. The graduation run, I struggled to walk the 5 minutes home as my legs were knackered and I felt lightheaded but today, I felt so good afterwards!
I'm not sure what helped today as I changed a few things;
1) I rested for 2 days for the first time since the start of July
2) I went somewhere different for the first time since starting C25K! I always thought about changing it up during the programme but today really did help, especially as I got a little lost which took my mind off things. The walk home turned out to be 1km as well!
3) I wore shorts ha
4) It was the first time running on pavement/gravel so took it easier.
5) The 4km run I downloaded on the Nike App was great. I found the person motivational and there was no mention of duration when running, just distance. She gave me things to think about between each time she spoke and she always informed me at what distance she'll be back (rather than just telling me how long I've ran like the C25K app did, which made me feel like I was just clock watching all the time)
So yeah, I'm pretty happy with that and no way as tired as I was after the W3 runs!
