First consolidation run - kept going

My last two runs of week nine felt difficult. This could’ve been because of the heat or the time day or whatever. Today I decided to do my first 30 minute run and put no pressure on myself other than to just run as much of the 30 minutes as possible. A couple of things I noticed was that without someone in my ear I actually found this less distracting. I still played my music but I didn’t have someone interrupting my headspace. I tried not to look too far ahead because I already knew the route, so kept my eyes pretty much in front of me the whole time. This enabled me to just keep running, as long as I felt comfy. I ran comfortably for 7K and only stopped cause my route ended. No stitch, no heavy legs, no calf aches; just comfy running. So there you go. I can’t quite believe it. Very happy 😊

You ran 7k in 30 minutes?

Well done, but it is best to plan your maximum distance/duration before your run and stick to it, making sure it fits into the 10% rule guidelines, otherwise you run the risk of doing too much too soon and coming to a grinding halt with an injury.

Take care.

Hell no, I didn’t run 7K in 30 mins. Was about 50 mins. Was gonna stop at 40 mins but I felt fine so just carried on a bit. It was down hill and the wind was behind me. I don’t plan on running like that regularly; I was just curious today cause it felt good. I’m going back to 5K or 30 mins for the rest of the week 😄

Read and understand the 10% rule if you want to avoid overdoing it and getting injured.
