8 days off

So far I've had 8 days off I haven't run since last Tuesday. Is it going to be awful? I'm dreading it and scared I've undone my hard work! I'm up to running 30/40 mins now. Graduated 2 months ago. Felt shin splints coming on so I've had a break, had gait analysis and found I am overpronating so have some new "special" trainers which I hope to try out tomorrow. I'm so nervous that either I'll have pain in my shins again or that I'll be absoluted b*ggered...

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running, so maybe overthinking is not helping.

The only way to find out how earth shatteringly awful the run from hell will be is to go and do it.......you may surprise yourself.

Relax and enjoy it.

Thanks, going to have a refresher read of that as I feel a bit "lost" at the moment with my running!

Completely agree with previous reply,

Go out and run , have no expectations, just a see how you go, run without pressure!

I had 16 days off after week 8 run 1

But managed to pick up where I had left off, so, just go and see, 😁👍

Ok that makes me feel better! I feel very protective if thats the right word over my progress and want to get the balance between maintaining that and not doing myself an injury as I'm worried about shin splints!

I know exactly what you mean , after my injury I want out with the app started for my next run but just took it 5 minutes at a time and if I felt ok I did the next 5 mins , it was at the halfway bell before I decided I could maybe finish the run ! Albeit very slowly.

Good luck ! 👍
