First post-C25K run

Headed out this morning with no phone or headphones for the first time (by accident rather than design) with no expectations other than running for 30 mins. This turned into 60. It was exceptionally slow, and I wasn't pushing myself, so thought the time was allowable. I know I need to be sensible, and definitely need to increase speed and to follow a plan, but just thought I'd report the lovely feeling of enjoyment today's run brought. It was a slow hour, but it was an hourπŸ˜€.

Blimey! NΓ²w everyone will tell you off for doubling the time in one big leap!

But actually you were really in that run and obviously loved it! Bodes well for the next phase of running for you. Take care though, you don't want to spoil it by getting injured, so maybe just allow yourself that one adventure for a while!

Yes indeed, it's a one-off! But I've just listened to the beat of the stepping stones podcast and think I'm very likely to injure myself at that speed 🀣

I graduated 2 days ago and the idea of running without the anxiety of sorting out apps on my phone , my armband with my phone in slipping and fussing about earbuds falling out blah blah is very appealing. πŸ˜‚Yes thanks I will try that!

It's quite freeing so do try it but if you're anything like me, you might be put off a bit by noticing your own panting which music helpfully masks πŸ˜†

That sounds great !

You don't have to follow a plan if you don't want !

It's YOUR run do what you want and enjoy the freedom 😬

Ah thanks, it just felt right. I had fuel in the tank at the end as I was doing such a slow jog, and I was listening to my old bod, but just wanted my first grad run to be joyous. Getting quicker probably won't be...but I'm so happy (and surprised) that I love it so much.

Just don't get an injury 😁

So happy for you that you enjoyed the run! I don’t think I would have wanted to risk such an increase, but it was your run and you did it slowly. Sounds liberating to be without phone or headphones! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

It was. Will go back to Laura and start stepping stones on Thursday but might do the occasional one without accoutrements!

Fabulous! I went out with full armour for my first consolidation run this morning (repeat of week 9 podcast with Laura) and to be honest, it didn't sit well - felt as if I was going backwards. Need to get out there for CR2 by myself and just enjoy it. Thanks for the inspiration :-)

I probably could have walked faster, but it was great. It's a bit like running as a kid again - enjoy!
