I certainly know what you mean. For me I have always taken two rest days even in the beginning! It just felt better. I also agree it is now easier to read the signals you get from your body. Youโre doing absolutely the right thing as thereโs no rush to get this finished when youโve come so far. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing your graduation post in the near future.
Some days the best run is no run... and today, recovering from an injury, thatโs a good call.
There are many ways to become a better runner without running... keeping active, looking after the muscles, drinking water, relaxing, reading and thousands more. Have a great extra rest day and a wonderful run when you do go.
Well done, Ian, for listening to your body. I took an extra rest day 2 days ago. I know you want to run, but an extra rest day isnโt actually a crime, even though it feels like it sometimes! ๐ฌ Iโm sure youโve made the right decision ๐ Enjoy your intervals !
A very wise decision @Instructor57! Listening to your body is key with injury recovery. Especially when you are so close to the finish line! Rest, stretch, repeat and youโll soon be out for W9R2!
Yeah Iโm fine just a bit scraped and bruised. I think maybe I was too tired really as I started swimming for an hour on non-running days last week. I might need to make some adjustments ๐คฃ #notasyoungasiwas
Enjoy your run free day. Youโll be back out there soon. Iโm having another day off today as I did a Joe Wicks PE session yesterday and killed my legs ๐ฃ
Good wise choice ... if you think your body is warning you ... listen to it ... you are just 1 hour of running away from graduating ... thatโs nothing in the next one or two weeks ... youโll get there .. youโre doing the right thing.
Two rest days, or even 3, to settle your injury sounds like a sensible plan. It worked for me and I usually leave 2 rest days between runs. Lots of other exercise on those days off though! The main aim is to stay injury free so that runs are enjoyable. Good luck.
