I think I'm in shock.....I cannot get my head around the fact that a complete non-runner, aka me, has actually managed to clock 6 'runs' in total and survived Week2 after just completing W2R3...……!!!!
For those contemplating on starting or are on Week 1 or Week 2 - if someone like me (who has never done any sport ever) can survive 2 weeks and still feel motivated to turn up to face Week 3 - anyone can!!!
So - the low-down; I modified my route slightly today as I was getting back to where I started 2 mins earlier than I wanted and was having to run back on myself. This had the desired result of me finishing my run + warmup right back where I started - however, this did also mean that I hit a gentle slope during the 3rd 'lap' - which so far, was my 'recovery brisk walk section' - I couldn't finish the 3rd 'lap' as a consequence - had to walk it out. But - I stayed positive and made up the lost running time in the 5th and final 'lap' - so still feel like good about achieving the full 9 mins 'running' factored into Week 2. Yaaaayyy!!!
The first two runs of Week 2 - I couldn't figure out how to focus on running, bearing up with the shin splits and counting numbers to control my breathing.....I tried this today, think I managed it for about 1 minute and then carried on not bothering - as it was getting too much for my pea-sized brain to handle....lol!!! But - it's something that I think I will try again next week to see if I can work out a breathing rhythm timed to my running strides.
I say 'running'....but in reality, i'm just 'slow-jogging' - as its the best I can do for now whilst keeping it steady for the whole 30 mins. Lol!!!
I'm still amazed at what I have achieved so far as a complete beginner. And I couldn't have made it this far with the positive motivation and support I have received from this forum. Thank you!!!

You are doing fantastically well, do whatever helps you to get through, I still haven't managed to sort out my breathing, I just remember to do it! Week3 will be tougher than week 1, but you are better prepared for it, so you will do it, and we will be there to cheer you on every step of the way x
Yes miss! One of the best things about this community (prefer community to forum here, seems much more appropriate) is that there always people who have been through what you are going through, so can offer ‘pearls of wisdom’, those who are at the same stage as you who can chivvy each other along and now those who are just starting out, who serve as a reminder of the progress you have already made.
Nice one, keep it going. Its all worth it in the end. 👌😁
Well done. You sound so much like me . I was a non runner. I'm now up and out by 7 am . Love looking for new running clothes and read running magazines 😂. good luck with the rest of the plan. Slowly is great it's not a race and it's still faster than you was last month when you was a non runner. 🏃🏃🏃💪💪Xx
Losing 5 stone and then boosting that weight loss with running.......you are the works!! Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your story and boosting my confidence!!! 😊
Not quite ready to look at running clothes and magazines yet.....but I'm loving my new asics and this weekend going to buy a waist pouch to stash keys/phone whilst running.
Have a look on eBay or Amazon for a phone arm band for running. They hold your phone and space for a key . (I got excited about my phone arm band thought it made me look like a real runner 😂)
