I have hurt my foot. I think from my first run on Monday. Should I try and run my second run tomorrow as I had planned or have another rest day? I’m really motivated to run and want to do it but don’t want to do any lasting damage?!
Could it just be where I am using muscles I am not used to using?
Thanks in advance for your support!

Hi, only you know how serious the pain is, so listen to your body. Pain is there for a reason and ignoring it could lead to a more serious injury. My advice would be to take an extra rest day.
You might also want to read up/ watch a YouTube video on running technique, it might help.
I had the same problem and by week 2 I could barely walk and had to have 4 weeks off. I found ankle supports really helpful when I restarted - they are really cheap on amazon - and I left 2 days in between each run for the 1st 2 weeks to give them a chance to heal. Don’t give up though you’ll get there 😊
Should mention that my son's partner also has Plantar. She was advised by physio to rest and to do exercises. She didn't run from January until a few weeks ago when she began a gentle return to running plan. She passed the first stage of exercise info on to me: 1) chair seated isometric soleus hold for set of 30 x 5 2) wall sit single leg hold 3 x max hold 3) side lying isometric hold against resistance band for inversion of ankle 20 holds x 3. I found some demos on you tube. If you have time , have a look - they may help you 😊 best of luck!
