A bit worried about week 5 it seems to jump up a lot after the first run, thinking of repeating week 4 how did everyone else find it?

Week 5 is about increasing your endurance. The first run of the week is actually shorter than the runs in week 4 by a minute. The second run in week 5 is the same running time in total as the runs in week 4.

What's changing is that you're going from four periods of running (wk4), to three (wk5r1), to two (wk5r2), and finishing the week by doing a single run.

Don't overthink it. You've already done the biggest jump in running time in getting through week 4.

Hi JAKL

Good news! Week 4 is actually the biggest jump in TOTAL running time in the whole program - a whopping 75% increase on Week 3. That's what counts - the *total* amount of time on your feet.

Week 3 - 9 minutes of running each outing

Week 4.1 - 16 minutes (75% increase!)

Week 4.2 - 16 minutes

Week 4.3 - 16 minutes

Week 5.1 - 15 minutes - a small decrease!

Week 5.2 - 16 minutes

Week 5.3 - 20 minutes (only a 25% increase)

What's the problem?

You'll be fine.

2 mantras for you

Mantra #1: every run you've done prepares you for the next one (i.e. your body is ready!

Mantra #2: the body is ready but the mind less so (i.e. ignore the gremlins, the fear!)

It’s daunting for sure but completely do-able. Keep it really slow but steady. I’ve just done the 20 min run and feel very pleased with myself. Good luck and post how it goes
