One more day, and I'll finish

I have done the whole C25K and only just discovered this forum!! Any way you all helped, just as I got to the end of week 8 and thought I could not finish. I read a few of your messages and you inspired me to finish. I still do not enjoy running but love the feeling after. I finish tomorrow but will try and make it a habit, my problem is I think I am running too slowly, I have no idea of the distance I run, but it seems to be very slow, except for the last 5 minutes when I speed up. I think it might be time to buy a distance watch or something?? Any ideas?

Any way thanks all of you

The consensus here is that you can't run too slowly.

C25K is about getting to be able to run for 30 mins straight, not about speed or distance.

You could maybe use a tracking app on your phone- I use strava😊 When I’m running I feel soo slow, sometimes I’ve thought I might as well be walking I’m that slow! When I started tracking my runs I realised that I’m actually a lot faster than I thought!! I was really shocked by it!

Tracking my runs also helps to keep my motivation up as you can see if you have beaten any personal records😃

But no matter how fast or slow you are going, you are still running! You’re speed will improve eventually but only if you keep it up, good luck with your final run😃💕

That's great, I will look it up, as you say maybe I will be more motivated, if I know how far I have run, or maybe not!!

I have used 'Map my Run' - an app which tells you how far you've run, how long in total, speed of run....

Great, I will look both of these apps up for the last big run. Maybe I might enjoy it more.

Another option for a run tracking app, if your phone is Android, is FitoTrack (free, no ads).
