Once I finished the C25K programme, I decided the next step was to be able to run a 5k. Attempted it last Saturday and managed it at 42 minutes which I was proud of! No way I would have managed that before the programme.
I wanted to try it again today to see if I could improve. And improve I did! This time it was 37 minutes! My pace was good, I felt good, such a good run! It's times like this that really help remind me of the progress I've made, and how much I've improved. I'm excited to keep going and progress further, maybe one day to the dizzying heights of a marathon though that's a long way off yet! I just need to remember times like this when I have one of my slow days or things don't go to plan.
It also happens to be my birthday, so it's the best time for a run to go well!

I know! I'm so pleased with myself! I think for me, I tend to run faster if I can just run (so no need to keep changing directions or doing loops) and I know where I am. I feel a bit more confident then, and I'm not focusing on how tired I am or if anything hurts. I can just zone out and listen to music, helps the time fly by!
Happy birthday fellow birthday mate. I graduated on Sunday and had the aim to complete 5k on my birthday (today) I started 10. Weeks ago and was determined. No travelling to work any more so this was my replacement. Itβs been life changing. You can do it too. Keep with it and Iβll be following you!
Thank you and happy birthday to you too! π I'm the same, without this I think I would have merged with the settee by now and become one. I've had days where I feel lazy but so far I've managed to keep up with my runs. I'm determined to keep going!
My plan is to keep running every other day. I canβt say I love it, or that I look forward to running but I know itβs doing me so much good. Hoping the endorphins will kick in in the next couple of weeks. They say it takes 12 weeks....Letβs keep at it x
Good to know it's not just me that feels that way! I'm running 3 times a week at the moment. More often than not I wonder why I'm doing this to myself while I'm running, but I know I have to keep going to keep up with it. I'm also hoping I get to a point where I love it... You never know!
