Hi everyone I’m new to the group just wanted to say hi, I started C25k 3weeks ago I was very nervous as I’ve not ran/jogged for a very long time. I have a heart problem that restricted me, but a year ago I had open heart surgery to help fix my problem, which it did but in the mean time while recovering I put on weight lost a lot of strength in my body, it put me on a downward spiral Intill I found C25k I decided to give it ago I new I had to do something. my youngest son who always wants to take care of me insisted he came with to make sure I would be ok and he’s loving do it too, something we can do together it’s fab. I’m just about to start week 4 scared is an understatement, my body keeps telling me to stop my leg hurt so much but my brain keeps telling me to go for it you can do it don’t give up. Let’s hope my brain wins 🤣

I've just joined this forum the advice and encouragement is amazing. I gave up a few weeks ago but joining those forum inspired me to restart c25k did my first run (again) this morning
Its fab you've got to week 4 and amazing you have the support of your son so you are both benefiting and spending time together encouraging each other
Stick with it, I'm learning slow and steady wins the race
Good luck
Welcome to the forum and well done your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
There is no need to be nervous. I suggest you follow the link in the guide to the post about mental approach.......you can do this.
Relax and enjoy your journey.
Hi Poppybella, you are an absolute star for even starting the programme! Well done for getting so far, I'm sure, like most of us, you'll have ups and downs but you will do it. Well done to your son too! Look forward to watching you progress.
Welcome 😊
