πŸ₯΅ my mojo wants to hide in the fridge πŸ₯Ά

β€’17 Replies

After discovering my missing mojo hiding behind the sofa πŸ›‹ on Saturday night, I thought I had better give it another outing again today before the weather got too hot and my mojo disappeared again.

Today’s scheduled run was the quick 20 min one. Looking at the forecast this morning it was the choice of an early run in ridiculously high humidity but a cooler temperature at 6:30/7, or hotter and less humid at 8:00. I went for the later and definitely noticed my breathing was easier in the less humid air, despite my hay fever. It was already 20 degrees by the time I got home and I was grateful for the water I’d put in the fridge!

I’m going to need to plan this week’s runs carefully. Keep safe and hydrated everyone, it’s going to be a hot one! 😊 πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Well done DD! My mojo has gone up the creek too. Think I will attempt the stamina podcast again with Laura tomorrow. My 4.5k run yesterday was just very unsatisfying. Slow and ponderous and did not feel good when it was done!

in reply to Timotea

Ah, but you completed your slow and ponderous run AND it was 4.5k, so I think you win! 😊

Great advice DD, glad you’re Mojo is out of hiding πŸ€—

If it disappears again I know where to find it now - it will be hiding in the fridge next to the water!

Great post as always...would your mojo like an iced drink to take with her on longer runs? I know we are not meant to need a drink during a 30 minute run but a tiny bottle of cold water may do us good half way through. And possibly keep the leg / arm cool through the pocket it was carried in. πŸ˜‚

Good point re timing for runs this week. Take care. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘£

I have a little water bottle for my longer runs but I haven’t taken it out yet. This week could change that however..... β˜€οΈ πŸ₯΅ πŸ’§ 😊

Glad your mojo is still in sight😊 I was planning on running tomorrow, as I hate the heat I may have to go at 3am 🀣

I was interested in reading about checking the humidity levels that something I've never thought of.

in reply to dijep

Yes, I think it was AlMorr that shared that interesting nugget of information. I hadn't thought about it either, but the humidity was 92% early this morning, but was down to 79% when I went out and it did make a difference. Fortunately I can choose a shady route too, which also helps.

So you think it makes a big difference? I can only do a third of my run in shade really.

in reply to dijep

I find the very high pollen count at the moment a bit of a problem too and the high morning humidity seems to make it worse. I guess it's a little bit of trial and error to find a balance between the humidity and temperature for the best running time, but I definitely don't want to run when it's much more than 20 degrees!

I m sure your mojo will return on Saturday after watching 007 .....😈

If it makes you feel any better my mojo melts in the heat- can’t find the damn thing anywhere πŸ‘€.

Not even Gerard Butler or Kevin Costner can re invent my mojo πŸ˜³πŸ™ˆπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

I used to think running in the rain was madness πŸ€ͺ, but given the alternative of the blazing hot sun ,I can see they are the sensible ones πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

My mojo is looking forward to Saturday evening... πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ˆ

I was planning to run this morning but after I saw the forecast for today I’ve decided to postpone until either later this evening or tomorrow when it’s cooler and due to rain. I like running in the rain and it will be so refreshing after the past few days! 😊

Yes . I think that s a sensible idea . I m off to work in a bit but if I have the energy later I might venture out . I was a bit β€œ odd β€œ last night . Think it might have been a touch of vertigo . Hubby suffers from vertigo sometimes and he diagnosed me πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈπŸ©ΊπŸ’‰πŸ’Š......πŸ‘€πŸ™ˆπŸ₯΄The numbers on my sudoku disappeared from my sight on a quarter of the page and there was a watery shimmery thing going on . Really weird πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜³. See how I feel later . Not worth a stumble / fall if I m not firing on all cylinders πŸ™„.
