šŸ„µ my mojo wants to hide in the fridge šŸ„¶

ā€¢17 Replies

After discovering my missing mojo hiding behind the sofa šŸ›‹ on Saturday night, I thought I had better give it another outing again today before the weather got too hot and my mojo disappeared again.

Todayā€™s scheduled run was the quick 20 min one. Looking at the forecast this morning it was the choice of an early run in ridiculously high humidity but a cooler temperature at 6:30/7, or hotter and less humid at 8:00. I went for the later and definitely noticed my breathing was easier in the less humid air, despite my hay fever. It was already 20 degrees by the time I got home and I was grateful for the water Iā€™d put in the fridge!

Iā€™m going to need to plan this weekā€™s runs carefully. Keep safe and hydrated everyone, itā€™s going to be a hot one! šŸ˜Š šŸƒšŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Well done DD! My mojo has gone up the creek too. Think I will attempt the stamina podcast again with Laura tomorrow. My 4.5k run yesterday was just very unsatisfying. Slow and ponderous and did not feel good when it was done!

ā€¢ in reply toTimotea

Ah, but you completed your slow and ponderous run AND it was 4.5k, so I think you win! šŸ˜Š

Great advice DD, glad youā€™re Mojo is out of hiding šŸ¤—

If it disappears again I know where to find it now - it will be hiding in the fridge next to the water!

Great post as always...would your mojo like an iced drink to take with her on longer runs? I know we are not meant to need a drink during a 30 minute run but a tiny bottle of cold water may do us good half way through. And possibly keep the leg / arm cool through the pocket it was carried in. šŸ˜‚

Good point re timing for runs this week. Take care. šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘£

I have a little water bottle for my longer runs but I havenā€™t taken it out yet. This week could change that however..... ā˜€ļø šŸ„µ šŸ’§ šŸ˜Š

Glad your mojo is still in sightšŸ˜Š I was planning on running tomorrow, as I hate the heat I may have to go at 3am šŸ¤£

I was interested in reading about checking the humidity levels that something I've never thought of.

ā€¢ in reply todijep

Yes, I think it was AlMorr that shared that interesting nugget of information. I hadn't thought about it either, but the humidity was 92% early this morning, but was down to 79% when I went out and it did make a difference. Fortunately I can choose a shady route too, which also helps.

So you think it makes a big difference? I can only do a third of my run in shade really.

ā€¢ in reply todijep

I find the very high pollen count at the moment a bit of a problem too and the high morning humidity seems to make it worse. I guess it's a little bit of trial and error to find a balance between the humidity and temperature for the best running time, but I definitely don't want to run when it's much more than 20 degrees!

I m sure your mojo will return on Saturday after watching 007 .....šŸ˜ˆ

If it makes you feel any better my mojo melts in the heat- canā€™t find the damn thing anywhere šŸ‘€.

Not even Gerard Butler or Kevin Costner can re invent my mojo šŸ˜³šŸ™ˆšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø.

I used to think running in the rain was madness šŸ¤Ŗ, but given the alternative of the blazing hot sun ,I can see they are the sensible ones šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

My mojo is looking forward to Saturday evening... šŸ˜‰šŸ˜ˆ

I was planning to run this morning but after I saw the forecast for today Iā€™ve decided to postpone until either later this evening or tomorrow when itā€™s cooler and due to rain. I like running in the rain and it will be so refreshing after the past few days! šŸ˜Š

Yes . I think that s a sensible idea . I m off to work in a bit but if I have the energy later I might venture out . I was a bit ā€œ odd ā€œ last night . Think it might have been a touch of vertigo . Hubby suffers from vertigo sometimes and he diagnosed me šŸ‘Øā€āš•ļøšŸ©ŗšŸ’‰šŸ’Š......šŸ‘€šŸ™ˆšŸ„“The numbers on my sudoku disappeared from my sight on a quarter of the page and there was a watery shimmery thing going on . Really weird šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜³. See how I feel later . Not worth a stumble / fall if I m not firing on all cylinders šŸ™„.
