After discovering my missing mojo hiding behind the sofa š on Saturday night, I thought I had better give it another outing again today before the weather got too hot and my mojo disappeared again.
Todayās scheduled run was the quick 20 min one. Looking at the forecast this morning it was the choice of an early run in ridiculously high humidity but a cooler temperature at 6:30/7, or hotter and less humid at 8:00. I went for the later and definitely noticed my breathing was easier in the less humid air, despite my hay fever. It was already 20 degrees by the time I got home and I was grateful for the water Iād put in the fridge!
Iām going to need to plan this weekās runs carefully. Keep safe and hydrated everyone, itās going to be a hot one! š šš¼āāļø
Well done DD! My mojo has gone up the creek too. Think I will attempt the stamina podcast again with Laura tomorrow. My 4.5k run yesterday was just very unsatisfying. Slow and ponderous and did not feel good when it was done!
Great post as always...would your mojo like an iced drink to take with her on longer runs? I know we are not meant to need a drink during a 30 minute run but a tiny bottle of cold water may do us good half way through. And possibly keep the leg / arm cool through the pocket it was carried in. š
Good point re timing for runs this week. Take care. šš£
Oh well really not sure!! Legs wer sore last night and very sore this morning have put compression sleeves on as they offer support, had legs cramped up under desk all afternoon and that defo makes them worse and will have to do same again today š and prob rest of week as lots to do at the min! Its very disheartening
Yes, I think it was AlMorr that shared that interesting nugget of information. I hadn't thought about it either, but the humidity was 92% early this morning, but was down to 79% when I went out and it did make a difference. Fortunately I can choose a shady route too, which also helps.
I find the very high pollen count at the moment a bit of a problem too and the high morning humidity seems to make it worse. I guess it's a little bit of trial and error to find a balance between the humidity and temperature for the best running time, but I definitely don't want to run when it's much more than 20 degrees!
My mojo is looking forward to Saturday evening... šš
I was planning to run this morning but after I saw the forecast for today Iāve decided to postpone until either later this evening or tomorrow when itās cooler and due to rain. I like running in the rain and it will be so refreshing after the past few days! š
