Did Week 7 Run 2 yesterday, planning to do Run 3 tomorrow as I have a day off work. Bearing in mind I've already done 2x 25 minute runs (W6 R3 and W7 R1), for some reason I found yesterday's run more challenging than previously, and today I'm rather stiff and aching.
I didn't knowingly do anything different to usual, stuck to a tried and tested route, made sure I was hydrated etc. Is this something anyone else has experienced, and how did you get through it? Thanks in anticipation.

Ha!see what I’ve just written. Had to end Wk7, R3 early. I had an extra day off to recover too. Sometimes things are just “off”. I couldn’t blame the heat or sun. I do think I was still too tired. Perhaps something to explore? Making sure you are fully recovered from last run however long it takes?
I kept going and finished the run, just felt a bit more fatigued than usual afterwards. This morning, I'm usually awake by 7, finally woke up at 8.15, went to the bathroom and got back into bed for another hour, which is highly unusual for me! I usually try to go out on both mornings of a weekend, just don't feel up to it today though. Maybe it is just one of those things.
Hi I am at the same point as you and have run 3 to do today. I found that last one difficult and felt quite fatigued the whole way through. However I am running with my daughter and afterwards we had a chat about how far we have come and gave ourselves a bit of a pat on the back. Looking at these posts it seems that many people have runs when it seems more difficult for no reason so maybe we just have to put that one behind us and move on. I am pretty sure the mental challenge is the biggest issue now. Will see how I get on today but I will go out believing I can do it and it’s going to be great 😊
I'm having a rest day today, and got a day off work tomorrow so am going to recuperate today. May go for a walk out later, my daughter is with me this weekend for Father's Day. Maybe it's the culmination of some long weeks at work finally taking their toll, got a day off tomorrow to catch up with some domestic stuff and generally recharge the batteries so we'll see how that one goes.
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
In hindsight, having had several trying weeks at work lately, maybe a spot of fatigue was creeping in... got a day off tomorrow to recharge the batteries and catch up.on some domestic stuff, so we'll see if I feel any better in the morning and do W7 R3 then...
Don’t forget, the runs may be staying the same, but the total running you’ve done in the last week continues to rise with each run. This weekly load on our legs does add up and make it a little more challenging than we’d expect. Keep those legs loose today, keep up the hydration and arrive at the next start line relaxed and well rested.
Thanks, looking back to where I was just a few months ago I've come a long way so maybe I have been pushing myself a bit more than maybe I ought to have done. Trying to take it easy today ready for another go tomorrow.
