W6R2 Harder than I thought

I've just done W6R2 and I've found it harder than w5r3 when I did 20 minutes. Not sure if it's because I ran later than usual but the 3mins walking in the middle seemed to pass in a blink! Normally I run straight after the school run but this morning had to collect the shopping from asda and then do a few other things that needed to be done early so didn't get to run until 10.30 and by that time I was ready for a cuppa. W6r1 went fine so went into the run feeling positive, I'm hoping it's just a glitch as with r3 coming up on Saturday I'm now thinking can I actually manage 25 minutes non stop :-(

I’m sure you will make Saturday - you are already past the half way mark and I’m thinking wow I’ve just git excited about completing week one - wish I’d achieved that 👍

Hmm. I’m at exactly the same point. I think for me it would cause a glitch to run out of my usual routine time - bit of a Pavlov’s Dog effect! By later in the morning I start focusing on coffee-and-a-bun ideas. ☕️😄 I’ll think of you on the next run & hope we can both avoid glitches. I have also heard that W6 occasionally catches folks out. Maybe we’re all too excited from managing W5?

could be as I couldn't believe I managed Week 5 :-) I'll definitely schedule the asda collection a lot later next time :-)

I did week 6 run 2 twice before moving on as I found it very tough, but I've just managed week 6 run 3. Running at a different time of day will definitely have affected your energy levels, and possibly your motivation/self belief if you felt it was going to be a problem. Good luck on Saturday, I'm sure you'll complete the 25 mins fine.

Great job... the intervals in week 6 aren’t easy... enjoy run 3... back to beautiful long runs now

Just did wk6 run 2 rather pleased as ibs before hand. Does anyone take water with them if so how do you carry it. Ran in shorts n tshirt not bad for February. Last year it was freezing now sunbathing!

I have to drive to where I run so have a bottle in the car for a quick drink before and lots after. I did carry a small bottle of water last year in the heat though.

Hi

Try running earlier before doing chores. 25 mins does seem a lot

But if dont quute make it. Just try again next week. Im scheduled to do wk6. 3 on friday. Running 13 n 10 today probably good provress

3 mins extra as the app froze. It was 9c today when i ran inspite of ibs spasm. It doesnt matter if it takes 12 weeks. Its getting to the 5k

That matters. Beyond that seem away off but keeping running 2 or 3 times a week for 30 mins will be so good for us. At my age need to do some weight too as after 65 we lose 1%of our strength each year. Strength sovital to keep us mobile

Without scooters wheelchairs. My cousins aunt lived in sunny spain after retirement n pased away this month at 97.used to be on the beach in her 90's with a glass or two.

Im thinking the same. Dam ibs playing me up. Diesnt help to be positive. Its nit a race so if i dont make 25 mins. I can have another go next week. Your doing well as busy mum as well. Im retired so can have a ly in if i feel like it. At present id settle for a nights sleep without pain. Hoping running woukd help. Would try wine as tablets dont work anymore. Only trouble is its fattening and im trying to get below ibm. Usyally lose 7lb in summer n put it back on holiday n christmas. Exercise isnt tbe answer to weight loss its keeping out of the cake shop for me😀
