Week 4 Run3 ☔️

Sorely tempted to postpone this run, having waited a couple of hours for it to stop raining. I usually run very early, so was disappointed - but I really needed to run today, so off I went, deciding to leave my glasses behind! Also wanted to log one of my 5 minute runs, so put in a bit of extra effort, too! Actually got out of breath for the first time since Week 1. My stats showed that I ran .58k and my average pace was 8 mins 41 seconds. Then I realised I have no idea whether that’s where I should be or not; it’s a tad faster than I have been running up until now 😀. All in all I was pleased with the run, only having to negotiate 1 dog (who managed to jump on me while I was running) and feel more than ready to start Week 5 on Sunday, hopefully at my dog free preferred time of 5 a.m. and in the dry! Week 5, look out, here I come!

It was exhilarating, I actually really enjoyed it! Not fun taking off wet clothes when I got home, though. I’m glad I didn’t wear my glasses.

I couldn't go without my glasses, I'm so short sighted! I wear a baseball cap, that keeps most of it off.

You know what ! I'm sat here watching the rain and wondering also !

I will decide within the hour !

According to my weather app I might have a narrow window around 10:00

I know I will be disappointed with myself if I don't do it !

It sounds like you have really found your groove with this ! Well done . 👍

It's week 4 run 2 for me but unfortunately I do still get out of breath sometimes ☹️

I know I know , and yes I AM running slow !

Just occasionally struggle to take a deep enough breath .

Well, let's see what 10:00 brings !

Go! So what if you get a bit wet! I just have my usual running clothes, nothing waterproof, wore a baseball cap to keep the water out of my eyes and off I went! I even did a happy twirl in the rain when it started to come down even harder 😀. (I might even have shouted at it a bit, saying You won’t stop me running’!)

Well done .... I started with glasses on then at the point of not seeing a thing chose glasses off .... whilst I could see the way ahead I couldn’t read my timings !

I did see a recommendation of a peak or baseball cap as good rain gear to keep the rain out of your eyes ... so might try that ...

Well done as you know we are at the same point in the program... so look forward to hearing your success next week ... you’ll nail it !

Yes, I wore a peak thing that is more for playing tennis. Hey, it worked! I could see what I needed to see and it’s so annoying in the rain if you wear glasses. Thank you, I’m sure you will nail it, too!

I was tempted the same as you to think uuugghhh rain, but I shoved my clothes on and went. It was the best run I’ve ever had. Deffo a great experience although I’m with you at peeling off wet T-shirt and leggings 😂

Yes! I really felt I had a good run. The rain shouldn’t stop us, we shall overcome 😀

Well done! Great you didn’t let the weather put you off.

I’ve taken note about the hat, I’ll be out in the rain this evening 🙈

Thank you! It’s stopped raining here now. Good luck with your run later!

Thank you, think it’s going to be a late run for me but I’m determined to go for it. I’ve just eaten 1/2 a chocolate fudge brownie so definitely need to get pounding the streets!
