hi guys i'm just looking for a bit of advice please ! i completed week five last week and loved it i felt so invigorated and proud of myself . I managed week 6 run 1 ( just ) on Monday then tried run 2 yesterday and barely managed a five minute run and walked the rest of the time and went home . i decided to try again earlier this morning and again only managed to run 5 mins ( but walked the rest )i'm not giving up i've come this far and i'm proud of what i've achieved but i'm really disappointed with myself and i'm thinking i should redo week 5 a couple of times and then try again . what do u guys think ? thanks xx

You don't say what is making you stop.

Are you in pain, exhausted or what?

Have you prepared well for your run? Are you well rested, fully hydrated and well fuelled?

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

You can't expect to do hard physical exertion if you are tired and in poor physical condition.

Have a rest day, address all the above and come back reinvigorated.

The exact same thing happened to me! I was fine until W6R2 and then for some reason I really struggled with that specific run. I’m now on W8R2 and every run since W6R2 has been completely fine again - no idea why! 🤔

Just repeat this run until you are able to do it just fine and then move on - I don’t think it’s necessary to back track by a whole week, especially as it sounds like Wk5 went really well for you with no difficulties! :)

Good luck with it!
