Have struggled with week 3 but completed it on Saturday, all ready for week 4 run this morning. The first 3mins ok then really struggled with 5minute jog and had to walk between minute 2-3. Manged the rest until the next 5 minute and just couldn't run after 21/2 minute, was very angry with myself and just walked the rest of way. WHY WHY WHY? I will try again tomorrow morning.

Aarrrghhhhh! W4R1 failure, please help.
Could you have been going too fast? Iam on Wk 5 and I have definitely got slower as I try and pace myself. Sometimes I have to check Iam still running Try slowing down on your run sections and keeping a fast walk going on the walk sections. I have also learnt that pumping my arms is important whereas to begin with they were flailing around a bit and taking too much of my energy. Hope this helps!
I have to be honest Week 4 was my biggest struggle and roughly took me 2 and a half weeks to feel comfortable with it! Week 4 was the week that I also learned how to breathe properly. The 5 minute runs is tough in this week but just start off at at really slow pace and keep at it! In no time yo'll be unto week 5!
Hang on in there, you are doing really well. At times I feel as though I am doing little more than a shuffle! I have just done W5R3 and I forgot that it was the 20 minute one, on hearing Laura tell me, my mouth went dry and as my last run had been me puffing away and struggling I thought I couldn't handle it. I truly believe that it is a mental approach now. Don't beat yourself up, I try and forget about myself and that seems to work for me. Keep going, it's tough but it is worth it - promise!! I did manage the 20 minute one which I thought after struggling with 8 I would never do. Good luck - you have us all behind you wishing you well
It took me 21 days to complete r1w4.
For me I had to learn to keep my breathing calm and not let panic set in after about 3mint of running. In the end I imagined I was swimming (something I can do!) and kept a steady pace that way. Is there some other activity you could imagine you were doing that is kind of meditative?
Another piece of advice that helped me in the end was - to go out expecting the run to be hard, and then keep going no matter what once it does get hard.
Good luck. Once you get over this hurdle you'll cruise the rest.
thank you all for the great support and motivation to keep going at this. Tried the run this morning and managed until the last 2mins so went out again tonite and managed to finish!!!! YEY!! Heres to R2 on Thursday. THANKS TEAM
Well done!! Don't get disheartened if you find it a struggle, just try and drop your pace. I think my 'jogging' is sometimes slower than my walking pace, just a different style!! Hang on in there you are doing fabulously well.
