Started today slightly differently. I saw an Instagram post from runnersworlduk with a 5min warm up routine including some dynamic stretches and decided to give it a try as the 5min walk I didn't feel was enough for me.
My first few steps when I start to run are always tentative as I'm very overweight and they normally highlight sore shins or tight ankles or sore feet. However after warming up properly the first steps felt good for the first time ever! My pace improves drastically, without trying and the entire experience was brilliant!
On my off day yesterday I did a sit-up and pushup workout as well as foam rolling and stretching which I feel helped a lot too.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.
