Friend joined me socially distancing and as I was ok after 30 minute run we ran 5k in 47 minutes. As 56.5 year old, slightly overweight, can’t quite believe I’ve just ran 5k. What a difference having someone with you on a run.

Well done.........but.......yes there is often one of those........you exceeded the 10% rule used by most experienced runners to increase their weekly training duration/distance and will inevitably have increased your injury risk.

Training plans such as C25k are gently progressive for good scientific reasons.
