week 8 run 1 - I walked for about a minute. Do I need to redo?

I am finding the last run or two harder.

I was doing fine, but week 7 run 3 and week 8, run 1 have been a struggle.

Possibly having lockdown blues does not help.

Do I need to redo the last run if I walked for about minute at about the 16 minute mark?

I feel like I am struggling - just waiting for it to be over - is it going to get easier?

I felt like this during end of week 7 and beginning of week 8, it was a real slog and about 3 runs in a row were soooo hard but wonder if its just the transition to long runs with no breaks? We are training after all and it will be hard at times. But then I had a great Run3 on week 8 and and it's been all good from there (apart from being ill 🙄). You have a good run and it gives you tons of confidence and makes all the bad runs worth it. As for repeating I'm not sure, walking for a minute isn't much at all and you still completed a good run but I think maybe you'd have to run it fully to move on, if it was me I would but I'm a nut and I wouldn't feel I'd done it right so would have to 😂

Just remember how great your doing pushing through this even though it's hard, that alone is an achievement. Don't give up your doing amazing and not long from now a run will prove that 😊

Hi, I walked for around 1 minute on week 8 Run 3, got a really bad stitch and couldn't keep going, but managed to run for a bit longer overall to compensate. In the end I decided the just move into the next run, I've always found redoing runs a bit demoralising so I had an extra rest day and moved onto the next run and smashed it 😁

Best advice is to just slow down and pace yourself, I always set of super slow and if I get to the last 10 minutes and I've got lots of energy left I may speed up then, if not I go even slower.

Good luck, you've got this!

I think I will try running a bit slower next time. Although I am already running very slowly!

Interesting to know if a minute walk is okay sometimes to catch the breath. I found the W7 R3 run real hard yesterday too and nearly almost walked for a few minutes. As Daisy-runner said, it could be the transition from having intervals to running non stop.

Well done for getting this far 😊 amazing achievement 💪🏻

Well done you... getting this far in these really uncertain and frightening times is fantastic.

You, whether you realise it or not have got stronger,in all ways; you have reached Week 8, despite everything.

So ... time now to relax into these lovely longer runs..the new running legs and you know what to do...These runs are perfect for slow and steady, so head out for this run again.

Take it as slowly as you like and then slow down more.... and know that this time, you are just going to remember what you have achieved and you are going to do this:)

I had the same problem on W7R3. I decided after the second time of not quite completing, that I'd move on to week 8 but slower - and it worked! By running slower, I could breathe (which definitely helps!) and finish! Good luck for your next run.
