Only managed to run for 17minutes -this only covered 2k, a bit disappointed in myself, i always run on our local outdoor running track but as it was a long run the thought of lapping for 20mins was not appealing so decided to run on the streets and it was fun doing something different and actually doing some hills etc, but think I got carried away and didn't really pace properly. Oh well -guess ill just repeat this run on Tuesday and see if I can make the last few minutes.
That dreaded week 5run -failed: Only managed to... - Couch to 5K
That dreaded week 5run -failed
These things happen I just finished this run friday starting week 6 today it wasn't easy thats for sure but i am sure you can do it!!! Just pace yourself its nice to see diffrent things when running but dont forget to pace yourself!! ALSO you DIDN'T fail you ran 17 mins!!!! Thats brilliant give yourself a pat on the back did you think you would be able to even run that far a couple of weeks ago?? I doubt it!!! Your doin brilliantly! x
I don't believe any run can be a failure - would you have thought running for 17 minutes a failure 2 months ago. I bet not. Bad runs happen but are then followed by more good runs.
You didn't manage the 20 mins, but that certainly wasn't failure. The longest you will have run in one go before is 8 minutes and you did more than twice that which is a great achievement. When you have another go you will already know you can do 17 minutes which is brilliant to be able to build on. I tried that run on Friday and only managed 10 mins, so I know how it feels though!
I admire anyone that can run 17 mins I can only just manage 3 min at the moment.
Thanks all. Just the kind of support I needed. I know thinking about it 17min is the longest in one go I have ever done so I guess that's an achievement in itself. Just a bit downhearted that only cover 2k,! Seemed like further when running.
It's not a fail, just a warm up! I also missed it on the first try, just makes getting it nextvtry an even bigger boost! There's loads of posts on folk worrying about distance, I still hardly cover any and I've just started week 9. General opinion seems to be not to worry about it, main thing is you are getting out there and you can build up speed after graduation. Good luck
