Well the last few runs pace is improving, times are certainly getting better. The latest time 26.37 mins 6 seconds faster than the previous run. So many personal bests on this run so pleased. Weather conditions were very suitable for this run quite cool and so pleased.

Congratulations on completing your 82nd 5K, most of them are all now sub 30 minutes, well done, each time you run one you get a PB, by the time you have ran a hundred you probably will be able to run a 5K in less than 25 minutes.

The last six have been getting lower but I doubt if it will improve that much as I don’t do anything else I run once or twice a week and not much else. No sprinting just go out and run. Determination keeps me going and the unwillingness to stop until 3.2 miles is completed. Hope your running is going alright?

Yes my running is going alright thank you, on a Saturday morning when there have been no official Parkruns I have been running what I call a "a Virtual 5K parkrun", this Saturday will be my 13th, I have now ran 7/10Ks, I usually run them midweek on a Wednesday, so like you I run twice a week with a bike ride on a Sunday.

I am thinking once I have completed 10/10Ks by the end of June on running further in July, perhaps 21K's by the end of July by adding 2k a week onto my Wednesday run, I will be very careful about that so it maybe achieved, I'll see how it goes. 😊 🏃🏾

Well done I did a gradual build up for my half marathon in March but since then I have just pottered around 3 to 4 mile mark. Good luck.

IF and it's a big IF I do run a Half Marathon it would be a one off, after that it would be back to no more than 10Ks

I ran one in training on Christmas Eve, a few 8 miles and 10 miles and the actual big half in March 2020. Then just my maintenance runs since.

Fantastic! I hope to be where you are and running further and faster.

I am getting ready to do a half marathon next year and a full one the year after. I thought I’d give myself lots of time to prepare 🤣

Well done HappyNoodle that’s the way to do it. I heard I had a place in the London Big Half in September 2019 for the following a March 2020. I had a head start on training as was regularly running 5k each week so was able to increase gradually and ran a half in training on Christmas Eve got out of work early and was intending to run my 11 miles then but felt good so went and ran the 13.1 miles instead. I then did a few 8 and 6’s after as I knew I could the distance. Done the distance, got the medal and now just running maintenance runs since.

It’s the big half I’m hoping to do next year. I’ll be following in your footprints 😉🙃

Good luck I got in late as I ran for a charity the Pilgrims Hospice as both my mum and dad passed away separately in the hospice.

Sorry for your loss. That’s a good way to thank them 😍

Yes my dad passed in 93 my mum in March 2020 on my graduation day of C25K, I ran it and was with her at the end. The big half was a good way to remember her as it was almost a year to the day that I lost her. I managed to raise £1650 in her memory.

How inspiring! FYI you are probably closer to a sub 25 min 5k than you give yourself credit for as you are basing your calculations on an extra 0.1 mile (5k=3.1 miles)

Papillon17 profile image

Thanks Bluedanubein no I use a stats program that takes the extra off and gives my actual distance. So I know I am a 1.5 mins off.
