I just got in from my w7r2. When I got to the 25 minutes and Laura asked me to slow down, I thought everything was going so well (as in my lungs hadn't collapsed, I was still able to move), so I decided to run the last stretch home rather than walk it. That made my run 5.1 km in 33 minutes. I have *never* ever run that far before. So I am very pleased with myself!
On Saturday I will be doing a Marathon. Well. Sorta kinda. I'm doing the "36th Calderdale Hike", an organised 26 mile walk up and down the Pennines. No running for me, but I'm sure it'll be a challenge.
Life is good. Laura is good. c25k is good.

Well done on completing W7R2 - only 7 runs now until graduation. Good luck with your 26 mile hike on Saturday, walking is good exercise, especially that distance and in that terrain. Best wishes.
Great time and for wk 7 as well. Enjoy your hike at the weekend sounds like a lot of fun. Remember to try and stretch those muscles after it, so your running muscles are ready for your next run.
Wow. The furthest I've ever walked is 26km (unintentionally - got a bit lost). Lots of up and down a mountain. Could hardly walk the next day. I'm sure your running means you're fitter than I was at the time though.
Thanks for the good luck wishes. I survived the Marathon walk, although I took a few wrong turns, so it ended up being 30 miles rather than 26, with 1800m ascend. The whole thing took 12 hours 21 minutes, and I was absolutely knackered when it was over. It's the longest I've ever walked, and the hardest work-out I've ever had (including the "torture" back when I did my national service nearly 30 years ago). got lost on top of a moor, whipped by cold rain, gps misbehaved and switched itself off. Everything was going against me for a while. But then the sun peeked through the clouds, I found a path down to the valley, and life was livable again.
Had to stop on the way home for coffee and coca cola to boost my energy a bit (despite being on a diet).
Went out on my w7r3 run yesterday even though my legs still felt heavy and my the muscles in my bum (yeah, no clue why!) aching. Managed w7r3, but without energy left for a single second of jogging extra.
Truly enjoying today as a rest day, and hoping to be fighting fit again tomorrow for w8r1.
Oh I like the sound of the Calderdale Hike. Thanks for mentioning it. It will have to be next year for me now. I like the sound of the short walk! Short being 26 as opposed to 37 miles!
I did the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge last year. It was physically draining, but I loved that I finished in less than 12 hours and injury free! Yay! Not ache free of course, that would be too much to hope for, and my walking companions were super helpful and encouraging at getting me round.
You are doing great, good luck with the rest of your C25K.
