Still Running, Still Improving, Still Enjoying It

Having graduated I wondered if I would continue to run, would it be an effort, would I find it a chore to get out of a warm bed and get out there, but I can honestly say I enjoy it. It’s still a mental and physical challenge but last Friday I reached 5k in 32:29 mins, my best time so far, so I’ve almost reached the illusive 5k in 30 mins which I’m determined to do. I kept my C25K journey to myself, but since graduating I’ve now told some of my work colleagues who were initially surprised but also impressed and encouraging and I’ve even discovered some of them are also doing it. Good luck to everyone whatever stage of your journey your at, stay positive and stay determined 👍

Oh no!! It's one thing for you to discuss it, but for your boss to do it for you?! Ohhh deaar! Naughty boss! Haha

Her intentions were all good !.I hope..🤣..anyway it's out there now. I'm actually doing this to train for a 5k as my mam was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia....💔 Some positive has to come from such a cruel diagnosis 💪💪

That is so lovely and such a worthy cause to motivate your runs. I wish you all the luck with your training and your race. <3

Slinky Jinky88, I bet people have commented on your weight loss, you’ll probably find other people you work with will be interested and ask you all about the programme.

Just Google’d it, looks very picturesque, it’s when you walk somewhere you think, oh I’m not tired, and realise you’ve got lot more stamina, well done 👍

I did Ben Lomond a couple of years ago...that's a story and a half..which ended with me swapping my size 5's for my sons size 9's🤣😆😆🤪🤪🤪

5k in 32:29 is great, I look forward to the day I will finally be able to get that time too! I am slowly improving and that is what counts! Well done you for keeping up the motivation and continuing to consolidate your training! I love the fact that this has encouraged others to give the programme a try, too. Fantastic! <3 xx

Thank you Squinty, I’m glad your enjoying running too, it’s hard but I think what pushes us on is the high it gives you for the rest of the day, when you’ve completed a run. Well done you for fitting it in around some gruelling shifts too and thank you for the sterling work you and your colleagues do in these uncertain times 👍

We all appreciate it your kind words. Thank you <3

I just hit my first 5k today and I feel fantastic (And my time was ALOT slower than 32:29!! xD)

Hope you are keeping up the good work! xxx

Wow that’s a great time - I don’t think I will ever get close to that but I did do my first 5K yesterday in 40 so I’m chuffed with that

Thanks SweatieHettie 😊 Well the first time I tried it, it took me 37 mins, then 34 then 32.29, so it’s doable, you’ll find you’re shaving minutes off in no time 👍
