Which other running apps should I use to gage performance?

Hello! Now that am in week 8 (wow 🤯!), I am finally getting around to thinking about the other running apps people have spoken about using at the same time to measure their performances. So far I have only been concentrating on my time spent running and my breathing (as asthmatic, that features pretty highly). But now that on week 8 (had I not mentioned that yet?!? 🤣), I am curious to learn more about my pace etc, beyond the rather limited info my iPhone has gaged by spying on me. Any suggestions of the best running app, as there are quite a few out there? Many thanks!

I've started using runkeeper and I really like it. I had it running with Ty C25K app and Spotify. It gives you updates on distance and pace every 5 minutes during your run, which may become a bit annoying but so far it's actually motivated me. I also like that you can set everything to private so you are invisible to other users (I quite like my privacy, not a very sociable runner here lol)

You have a choice, Strava is the most popular followed by Mapmyrun and Runkeeper, there are a few more but those three are the most popular.

I use strava, Garmin connect, and Nike run club. The middle of those needs a watch purchase... the latter has guided (coached) runs and the former lets all my friends know how awesome I am! Other than that, they all show my pace, distance and lots of other things.

Hi Miss B,

I have been using STRAVA ( the free one) - this gives me info on my time and pace every . 5 K. Use need to have you data on and set to record in the run mode , I also have selected pause . There are times when I have to wait , although I try to run on the spot.

Currently , I’m using PODRUNNER 148 beats per minute. You can download .

This is a comfortable beat for me to jog n run too. However, there are different beats for you to try out. LINK :

podcasts.apple.com/gb/podca...

There’s so much out there and I’m sure you will find something to you liking after a few try outs .

All the best for week 8, this is getting you ready of week 9 of course .WOW .

Your be great , the key , start slow and smooth until you have consumed the toxic ten :) Im looking forward to your Victory 🐾

Thanks for that! I'm just looking for something very simple that will more accurately record my distances, track my routes, and my pace. I don't use a smart watch, just my iPhone. So something that could run in the background while I still use the C25K app and play my music. I looked at Strava, although am not sure I am looking at the right one. The one I looked at was free for two months then £47.99 a year. Is that right? Am fine to pay that if it is the best app for me. But also more than happy if there is a better free app for me. As my needs are quite simple.

I have been using STRAVA since graduation . It does tracks you run too and I haven’t paid. My understanding is you pay for all the extras which I don’t need.

Try them all until you find what woks fir you .

I have found music with a solid beat helps me to keep a steady pace with sufficient energy for a speeder last K. Or, on a good day I’ve managed the extra K which I have been trying to accomplish once a week , that’s my current target :) run safe - run free my friend :) 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🐾

Good to know! I shall play around with it and see what works for me. I normally run with my own playlist playing in the background, with really upbeat songs to keep me going. But must admit am getting a bit bored of the same songs! Thanks for all that. x

NO it should be free I’ve not paid for anything on strava at all since I’ve had it

Thanks! I think I must have accidentally clicked some add-on subscription. Fortunately have cancelled that now with no money taken. Thank you all for pointing out. Unfortunately I forgot to actually run it on today's run. Ooof!

I use strava, just the basic free one. I also find listening to pod casts works better for me 😊
