Week 1 Run 1

I surprised myself (and my hubby) that I got up and got out. Can’t say it was all smooth sailing it’s quite hilly in our village whichever way I go. At this stage I’m looking forward to the next one. Well done to all those much further on - hope I can get there.

Welcome to the forum and the program, both will change your life.

Trust me, week 1 is the hardest week of them all, that makes run 1 of that week the hardest run of them all.

Well done on completing the first run, have some water and have a rest day before your next run.

Just take the runs nice and slowly, even if you are able to walk faster than what you are jogging at it's fine, as long as you are using the jogging movement that's all that matters.

Brilliant, you’ve started and that’s the hardest part. Keep going and enjoy the journey 👍

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Sorry, only just seen this! Good thank you. How are things going for you? I'm definitely taking the slow and steady advice 😉

I stuck with week 1 but don’t think I’d win any speed records myself...unless they were for going very slowly. Also developed blister on day 2 which doesn’t help 😕

What a pain (literally) about the blister. You're still going though and that's the main thing. I've read loads of posts on here about people going slow and it's completely right and normal. I'm sticking with slow otherwise I won't be able to get it done. The only time I might try and push it is at the end if I can, when I know there's no more to do afterwards haha.

Hope you can sort the blisters cos that must be a struggle.

Let's go at snail pace together 😉
