Week 1 Run 1

So as I am avoiding social situations of any kind because of my participation in Dryanuary (and my apparent inability to go out without a glass of wine in my hand), I thought I’d start Couch to 5k after promising myself I’d start running and downloading the app LAST MAY.

I have hated running my whole life and was absolutely dreading it.

Wellity wellity wellity! I loved it! I completed all the runs and really got a buzz out of it.

I think where I’d gone wrong in the past was not listening to music while I ran and also just trying to run as fast as I could with no thought as to where to or for how long I would go.

I really hope I keep it up. I so want to love running - it’s a totally free and extremely effective way to look after my cardiovascular and mental health.

Fingers crossed!

Great start. You’re not alone... I had a different running app downloaded a whole year before I put my running shoes on 😂

It’s cool that you enjoyed yourself, that’s the best motivation to come back for more!

Enjoy your journey... you can do this.

Thanks!

Fabulous idea starting this plan in Dryanuary - it's very difficult to run with a glass of wine in your hand!

All the best for your next run 😊

And risky!

Thanks!

Thank you. That’s great to hear and I think having company will keep me motivated.

I downloaded the app about the same time last year. I managed 2 weeks until family life got in the way. I restarted on Friday W1R1, this time I have said that I intend - not resolve, to do all of the runs to complete the programme, regardless of the time frame.

Good luck with your C25K journey and I hope to see you at the finish line. x
