Running in the heat

I'm planning to start running in the morning rather than the evening, as even though I ran at 10 pm tonight, it was still super humid and warm 😭

Does it make a big difference?

I ran tonight aswell. Always run in the evening because I know I would never get myself out to do it in the morning 🤣

I found it so warm also but just think of the extra I'm sweating off and it spurs me on hahah. Also, don't expect this kinda heat to last much longer so I'm set on sticking to my routine. It's worked for me this far, don't wanna ruin it lol

Best of luck if you change 😊

I go out at 6am and run. It’s warm and you have a nice breeze, I can’t run in the afternoon or evening too hot for me. Plus doing it in the morning means it’s over and done and I won’t have to psych myself up to doing it later after a full days work!

I love a morning run! Everything is peaceful, you start the day well and can’t change your mind about going once it’s done! I’m terrible in the heat and I find it so much easier when it is still nice and cool.

Hi AliceInThePalace,

Great that you're back. I much prefer to run in the mornings. Once it's done it's done. Sets you up for the day. You can't change your mind/make excuses which is what I'm prone to do! As you say too - it's cooler. You're fresh (hopefully) what can be wrong with that? Give it a try. Take it easy and see the world from a different perspective! Enjoy 😉

I always run in the morning- tried a few other times of day during the programme but it didn’t suit me at all. It’s lovely and quiet and not too hot. Also, as others say you don’t have time to think about excuses! I find it’s good headspace too.

Come join us early birds🙂

I am only on week 4 but I have swapped to running at 7.30 as it's much cooler than early evening. Also there are fewer people around. My route takes me along footpaths to the beach and back.

I run first thing in the morning, not early, just when I naturally wake up, after a small snack and some water. I just wouldn't do it later in the day, I would make excuses, too warm, too many people, I've eaten too much, etc, ha ha

Massive difference, I run at 6am, nice quiet streets and much cleaner air, plus it sets you up with a positive vibe for the rest of the day 👍
