I was actually quite apprehensive about this one despite managing 25 minutes last week reasonably easily.
Inspired by ExpatMorrisonian I created a playlist of tunes I haven't listened to for 30 years or more and ran with music properly for the first time this evening.
I run through woodland and like to hear the birdsong so usually have nothing apart from Michael chipping in every now and then, but what a difference!
I got into a nice rhythm much sooner, and was able to relax and (dare I say it?) enjoy my run without thinking "am I halfway yet?", "When can I start walking again?". And it would seem my cadence increased by around 12%
I was even able to muster up a short spurt of speed at the finish - egged on by Orange Juice's "Blue Boy". π
Upwards and Onwards!!!

I'm the opposite, I need upbeat music to keep me going! Funny how we all respond differently, but like you both said, it's finding the right music to help us along the way βΊ
