Not been able to run for over a week

I graduated C25K at the beginning of May started doing consolidating runs wasn’t doing to bad bit further but faster all going well.

I went out Friday week ago nice day nice run but when I got home back was aching a bit. Did ask for some stretches which some of you guys sent me thanks for that.

Trouble is back still hurts and starting to get a bit down I didn’t realise how much I had been enjoying getting out in the fresh air and exercising it did start to make me feel good about myself and life in general.

Can anyone send me some advice on how I can keep the fitness and stamina I have built up over the last months or do you think when I finally get back that I start on maybe week 7/8

Being on the IC is tough but let's hope only temporary.

Runners need good core strength, so planks and bridges will build that. They worked for me.

Can you cycle, swim etc.?

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.

You may need to see a sports physiotherapist to sort out your back. Back are a complicated problem that needs to be dealt with correctly.

I don't know how bad your injury is, but I have a weighted hula hoop that's great for keeping a supple, strong core. You can buy them cheaply on Amazon. They come in sections neatly boxed.
