I was a bit nervous today, not sure if it’s because the intervals are back in or because I know the recovery walks are coming to an end.
I am the queen of procrastination. A break in the weather signalled it was time to go.
I use Michael for my runs. I tried Sarah Millican but wasn’t sure if she’s done gnus programme so switched to Michael and I really enjoy his tone.
All runs went okay today but did feel tired and the end of each one and was audibly panting (nice). Am trying to set my pace and slow down when I feel tired. Michael tried to help by telling me to heel strike but I then concentrate too much on my legs and start wanting to do that weird Monkees walk they used to do on their programme (I’m showing my age now) so I have to Zone him out a little. I have to Zone him out when he does his breathing spiel as I then forget totally how to breathe and start trying to breathe out of my ears. Don’t tell me how to do it while I’m doing it!
I consciously looked up during my run today. I’m a nightmare for looking at the ground so today was a conscious move to take in my surroundings.
The rain kept off and I did it. The Lost Boys soundtrack helped me push through and “Lost in the Shadows” is a great one for the 5 minute run.
I hear that Michael tells you that you’re a runner at some point in week 6. I have that in my sights!
Run 2 next. Bring it on!
